I had a campus job where I was making a tiny update to the url of a spreadsheet on one page. The sysadmin showed me how to merge my code, test in staging and then promote to live he didnt show me how to rollback or ssh into the host or rest

I feel like people take for granted the ability to ask the right question with the right words. I get that this study is talking about general knowledge questions but I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to search for an answer for

I used to be someone who used sublime when it was cool, then atom then I switched to vim then spacemacs. But I sorta gave up on that stuff cause I hate spending time maintaining configs especially when I switch languages so often. Now I ju

I like how acejump is integrated with ideavim: https://github.com/acejump/AceJump#configuring Will definitely be installing this Monday.

I like ideavim a lot, but I really hope they integrate an embedded neovim into the IDE like The VsCode community has. There is an open ticket you can show support on: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/VIM-858

I had a similar experience, I usually avoid the dask dataframe where possible and instead use bag and dask delayed. But its hard to get scientists to give up the dataframe mindset. Thats one of the reasons I wanted to try modin, I have hear

Dask is really good for scientists, when I worked with bioinformaticians it was way easier to get them to use dask for out of memory processing than spark. In particular dask bag offers a great amount of flexibility for ETL use cases. The p

I completely disagree, when I was a beginner programmer my only concern was “how do i make games?” i didn't really care about the game engine, the compilation process, the algorithms even, my focus was on making a game. From middle sch

Im looking for a workflow to replace having multiple dependent branches (unmerged code reviews) and rebasing each of them when you have to revise one of the branches for Code review comments. Any suggestions?

I think you’re missing the point or I was unclear. The point is not that masters at a skill don't exist. The point is that attributing their skill mostly to something innate rather than practice, study, etc is not supported by the body

This is the opposite of how you should want any knowledge worker to think. If you believe that there’s some innate ability that makes people 10x better at a skill than you rather than hours of practice and study then you are much less likel

I can’t believe someone implemented that in jq: https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Sorting_algorithms/Sleep_sort#j... Pretty interesting implementation not actually sleeping tho.

I have noticed that what we are missing in the Frontend space is some common solution for caching and reshaping data from the api. In every codebase I have worked on we just implement this ad hoc. We have agreed upon solutions for: Api clie
