Good lord. Your (2) is entirely unfounded and can absolutely be rejected with no further explanation than that. All you have is (1), from which no conclusion can be drawn. Again, nothing about (1) itself "points towards a creator."

I would not agree that the fine-tuning argument "point[s] towards a creator." As I understand it, it is that if various natural constants had values other than those we observe, either life as we know it, or even the universe itse

No, not implying that. These are not my terms, but I would call the 6000 years ago stuff "young earth creationism," distinct from several kinds of "old earth creationism." My point was just that proponents of so-called &

Stripe may love to write, but it appears to hate its readers. The light gray type on that web page is really hard to read.

Doesn't matter. Debates can be useful public-speaking training for the participants and entertainment for the audience but as truth-finding exercises, they're useless. It's not the point.

This is a bad idea. You just need to find an editor configurable enough that you can get it to work the way you want. No need to drag everything down to the lowest common denominator.

I don't doubt that homebrew has a greater selection of packages than pkgsrc. pkgsrc works for me, though: I don't install that much from it. But we're getting off-topic. The bitecode author's primary point is how to inst

I dunno, you could take it up with the author, I suppose. Note, though, that the article is about "the bare minimum you can get away with." Also, a little more reading might have led to you this: < https://justinmayer

No, you're as wrong as he is about blackmail. The links you cite show that. There is no coercion. Your first wikipedia link says "[c]oercion involves compelling a party to act in an involuntary manner by the use of threats."

"[C]alling this reaction 'blackmail'" isn't "a little over the top," it's petulant and incoherent. The basic idea of blackmail is "I know a secret about you and I'll reveal it if you don

Garamond has already been around for more than 500 years, no reason to think it won't be legible in another 500.

What AI needs is that which has always been anathema to software vendors: ENFORCEABLE LEGAL LIABILITY. The whiz kids will be much more careful if they know that one mistake, if it's bad enough, can put them out of business.
