Sadly many Universities have lots of professors who just copy books in the blackboard. Those books that asume you already know.

What helps is explaining it to many people, and carefully listening the questions asked by them. It of course help also to have a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Please think about removing the “2025” footer, as it takes almost half my screen on the phone if I put it horizontal. I had to switch to read mode. I suppose is ok, but I assume the article is to be read…

I’m right now working with this topic, so vey happy to find it here. The only problem: I like to read with the phone horizontally. If you do that the 2025 footer takes 45% of screen… I mias plain HTML so much!

The problem is that feels unfair, because you pay the HW which is capable of doing 220hp and they limit it to 201hp. I do not understand the logic behind it. For 700 dollars that could be added to the price so easily… i do not get the reaso

Of course not all, depends, but I worked in a telco; and pretty much yes. Without datacenter, no cell phones (or trunking in the case I know) so no ambulance, no police, no firefighters (or a very delayed version) We had batteries and 2 gen

I get your point, but saying “is ok to cut power, they have backup” isn’t a little bit kind of deviance? For example in a hospital this kind of thinking would be totally unacceptable IMHO

Actually some have. At least I know that in Peru, operators were forced to offer such a thing in case of earthquake. I do now have details though, maybe was not simple as I was told.

Yes. There is a way to setup a private cell using SDR. There was a talk about that in Chaos Computer Club some years ago. I do not remember how they did with the simcards, if they were custom, or normal out of service ones. Caution: because

It could even make sense in C. In some circumstances, I wouldn’t feel bad for cutting that corner.

And maybe cost also? Not sure, but back in the days maybe 4kB more would have a noticeable (albeit I do not think extrem) effect on final price.

And the 80 columns come (losely) from a still older standard in typography, of about 70 characters per line, found empirically as a good size for a line. Even today is good design practice in UI, Web and books to stick to 60 to 80 CPL.

Yes! Exactly what I meant. 700 lines, but of code that can be understood, and looks clearly as C. Also btw, the general file structure, the documentation, I prefer fe any day of the week. Thanks for pointing that out, I will take a look at

Certainly not the worst I have seen, by far; but yes, not pretty. IMHO “Just for making it shorter“. I would very much prefer 200 lines of actually readable nice code.

Seems from japan. I often see names from japan to be Spanish words that often are not the best. e.g. verso (can be a poetry verse, but also in some countries a cheap lie), pajero (a car that can drive over hay, but in some countries wanker)
