Yeah, in the link I posted the formula is derived via Taylor (or Maclaurin) series, but the explanation in your link is great. Thanks for sharing!

This follows from e^(ix) = cos(x) + i sin(x)! I'm currently reading the Qiskit quantum computing textbook, and the appendix on linear algebra has a demonstration: https://qiskit.org/textbook/ch-appendix/linear

Also there's a scene at the beginning where the main character looks up and it's just hanging up there, seemingly stationary. At LEO it should be zapping across the sky (the ISS orbits the Earth every 90 minutes).

Crazy to think that we have catalogued thousands of exoplanets, even though we basically can only detect them if they pass in front of their stars along our line of sight. Space is big, but also pretty crowded.

Never played that game but from the screenshots it looks like it would be a pretty cool place to live. I see mass transit and high density, not sure why it's supposed to be a dystopia.

Some time ago there was a link to an article here on HN about lead poisoning in ancient Rome. It mentioned how they used to boil grape juice (to concentrate its natural sugars) in lead containers. Edit: doh, should have clicked on your link
