With the exception of Dvorak, every English-centric layout I've looked at (Colemak, Workman, Carpalx, probably a couple others) moves only the letters around, keeping punctuation in the same place as QWERTY. This means the right pinky

I'm not a power vim user but sticking to the default keybinds on Dvorak isn't so bad. JK are still right next to each other, and HL are on the right index and pinky, respectively, so the basic spatial relationships between the key

Having to install and set up third-party pre- and post-processors is the extra work I mean. I'm sure it's not super difficult, but it's also not very accessible to those like me who aren't already familiar with Java tool

Kotlin is indeed very Crystal-like, and I enjoy both languages, but I really miss union types in Kotlin, as well as deeper type inference. For example, in Crystal you can write def foo_then_bar(a, b) a.foo b.bar end

In practice, it is. You can turn GC off with a compiler flag, but then the standard library will leak all over the place, so it's probably a bad idea unless you're doing something very specialized.

Crystal does some of what you want: https://tio.run/##ZVDBbsIwDL33KywmrRcaUXbbhHbeaYdpJ4RQaA1kCk... Note how the language is pretty smart about flow-typing variables as you narrow down their types. `x` here is typed as a ta

I realized this comment carries more pith than meaning, as it were, and thought I'd expound. Communities censor in benign ways all the time. Most successful online forums regularly remove posts that are spam, self-promoting, or flameba

Censorship of things I don't like is okay when performed at the level of an actual community that nobody is forced to be a member of.

Take a look at the "daily new deaths" graphs for each of those countries on the site you linked. All four of those countries fall to near zero over the summer. Their first-wave lockdowns worked, eventually. The USA's did not;

ReasonML is merely an "alternate syntax" to OCaml, meaning it's a separate language that parses to the same AST. Traditionally it's been used along with Bucklescript, an OCaml-to-Javascript compiler developed by the same
