Interesting! I'm autistic and I'm the complete opposite! I've always been super artistic, and usually visualize what I design/draw in my head before it ever hits paper/screen. It blew my mind when I learned about ap

Spot on. My daughter's PDA led me to the self-reflection of my own PDA, and ultimately to the self-discovery of my ASD.

Fair enough, but the LLM said nothing incorrect (if it did, please point it out). Regardless, the screenshots don't even matter. You didn't seem to actually read the thread I pointed to, where a VC-backed startup founder admitted

If you read the conversation higher up, instead of taking what I said out of context, you'd see that I was talking about the author veiling their intentions, i.e. using the AGPL as an effective non-compete while masquerading as &qu

I've probably contributed more to open source than you [0]. I also contribute the source code of my entire company under the open source Apache 2 license via DOSP [1]. I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I love open source. But I als

Here's a thread from a couple hours ago on X: https://x.com/_m27e/status/1962563736142565882 . Read the images and follow the quoted posts. The example comes straight from the mouth of a COSS founder.

Too ambiguous. The main driver behind open source’s success is largely in some way, shape, or form "profit." Saying nobody can profit by using the project essentially limits its use to strict personal-use, and even then — it depen

My point is less about the AGPL license itself and more about the people who choose it. If the OSI came out and made a statement on the ambiguities in the AGPL, and cleared the FUD in such a way that all companies agreed and could reference

Shame on the people who recommend the AGPL to effectively be an OSI-approved source-available license. This is a grievance against the spirit of open source.

Has the maintainer looked at fair source? [0] I believe it's superior to source-available (and open core), because it eventually becomes fully open source under DOSP [1], which is great for free and paid users, especially for a blog pl

Marketing != ads. It can be, but it doesn't have to be. And not all ads are bad, only untargeted ads are "bad." Marketing is many things, as the post mentions. At it's best, it's a simple transfer of enthusiasm. e.g
