I wouldn't call Jack Ellis a goofy marketer. His technical expertise is vast, as are his writing abilities [0]. [0]: https://usefathom.com/blog/ddos-attack

I think introducing defp, with similar semantics to Elixir -- i.e. with overloading -- would actually be quite beneficial, while still feeling like Ruby. For example, with overloading, defp for_environment(Environment => environmen

Did you read the article? It discusses this topic and how it's a hard problem in Ruby vs. Python due to Ruby's syntax choices.

As a huge proponent of Ruby's new pattern matching syntax (it has changed the way I write Ruby), I really, really like the idea of defp. So many times I wish I could overload a method, dispatching by pattern. Instead, I have to patte

I've been using Kagi for the last year or so. I average about 20 searches per day, including on my mobile after work. Well under my 1k monthly limit. I guess I don't search nearly as much as I thought I did. Still worth the $10&#x

Could you have a separate monthly subscription on the customer that handles overages? For example, all yearly customers would have 2 subscriptions: the base yearly subscription for up to N users, but also a monthly subscription for overages

I agree that Ruby needs real type annotations, especially for correctness as well as for eventual performance optimization. I was sad to see Ruby 3 drop the ball here as well. RBS is not what Ruby needed, and I hope it can be replaced with

This type of behavior, where a CDN flat out ignores a header you’ve set in favor of their own values, without any indication, is incredibly frustrating. I hit a similar issue when using Cloudflare and the Date header, where I was signing so
