If I were able, I would disable incoming telephone calls entirely (consider that a feature request, Apple). The phone system today is fundamentally untrustworthy because of caller ID spoofing, and the phone companies involved are culpable f

Molds have a finite cycle count before parts go out of tolerance. A typical steel mold might have a million cycles, more complex and precise ones may be much less. At the volumes Lego delivers (~19 billion elements a year), I'd expect

I'm out of the industry now, but one more intuitive option we implemented was to magnify pan rotations, such that a user only has to turn their head through 120º (tuneable) to turn a full 360º. Thus a seated user doesn't have to s

No idea. Actually the way this works in some players is a mouse drag acts as an analog stick, moving with proportionate speed the further you drag from the start. That's how QuickTime VR worked two decades ago and it seems we've r

It seems disingenuous to write an article extolling the benefits of JIT and self-modifying code without mentioning the security concerns of allowing anyone to change executable code.

Average household consumption is around 30-ish kWh / day, so an 85 kWh Tesla battery would give you almost 3 days. The question I have is why you would need to store more than a day's energy for your home, assuming you charge it w

This isn't a patent. It's a published patent application. Says so right on it. In fact, all US patent numbers that start with a year and month ("201302.....") are patent applications. Patent applications are published 18

The downside of accessing the full sensor on the iPhone 5S is that image stabilization and rolling shutter compensation is not enabled. That functionality would need to be reproduced in software instead of the ISP hardware.
