I don't think these images made a point of trying to disguise themselves. They were meant to be used in already compromised hosts and pulled after the fact. One of the reasons why containers/k8s are so attractive for malware like

We (NanoVMs) are looking at unikernels - that is reworking the guest. Also, while they reside on top of a hypervisor there is plenty of work that can be done to advance the state of the art here. NFV, 5G, and edge deployments are going to d

Install a linux distro on your own laptop without X. Force yourself to do everything from the shell. {mutt, lynx, etc.} That's how I learned not only to use a shell but also how I learned to program.

There's a silent majority of people that don't use k8s (or containers) - hell there is a significant portion of servers that don't even use linux. I find the majority of engineers my age (mid 30s) think it is nothing more tha

Contrary to what you might read that is most definitely the norm, although I wouldn't call ec2 bare metal. Bare metal is when you have access to actual hardware.

I kinda disagree. We looked at doing this and just couldn't fathom how it could be done. You might be surprised at the amount of code and entanglement there is to support multiple users, multiple processes - that touches everything fro

I wouldn't draw that conclusion. A) Taking vc money sometimes points you at different types of businesses that you are urged to explore more. B) Just cause you can run a database as a unikernel (and you can) doesn't mean the peopl

I'll admit I don't know much about WASM but access to raw sockets and 32bit only sounds extremely limiting. Until those are dealt with wasm will never move past it's current status quo - malware in the browser.

Well one of the problems here is that it's kernel work and not everyone has the skillset to do that work, worst no one wants to fund it. However, the tooling is changing.
