You can say “don’t paint this yet” if it’s not within the viewport. In addition to ‘contain’ there’s also ‘content-visibility’. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/content-vis...

Do people do that, start a company based on a wish for an advancement in materials science? I would think it would be more common, and wiser, to first have an innovation from a research lab then start a company to productize it.

I used a Nano 5th gen, the last to have a clickwheel, until 2019. It was primarily for use at the gym but because I mostly listened to podcasts and didn't want to try to keep everything synced with Mac, Nano, and iPhone, it was the o

Speaking of battles, I’ve liked trying CSS Battle’s challenges. Kevin Powell and some others have YouTube videos where they compete but it’s not really that competitive. Don’t worry about minimizing the number of characters, try to match th

The estate tax does not apply to the first $11.7 million , the children will be fine. If you're wealthy enough for the estate tax to be relevant to you, you're wealthy enough to do estate planning that factors in the taxes due. T

The really rich are not so because of the salaries they draw, if any. Salary transparency can help individuals by revealing their unfair pay relative to their peers. Correcting such injustices are not big money overall, they're not g

I don't understand their complaint either. Some people have a hard time with absolute black on absolute white (and/or vice versa) so easing up a little can be helpful. It's a small difference, 19:52:1 vs. 21:1 contrast ratio.
