I agree in the general case but I think here the problem is more that to really make these types of packages to air-tight production grade status, you need a critical mass of users to basically field test it and find all the edge cases and

I tried to seriously use Polars in a side project and while I do like that the API surface is a little smaller, and cleaner, it's quite verbose. And I ran into a few bugs doing "basic" things that made me think it's not

So, you don't have to. Check out that spin2win "example" I linked, it's really less of an example and more of a pretty fleshed out implementation of XMonad. I don't really know javascript/TS at all and I was ab

Actually, if you're interested at all, I just, after literally months of reading about this, found a pretty sick solution. Have you ever heard of Phoenix? https://github.com/kasper/phoenix/ . Despite googling

I've been using MacOS for awhile and this is likewise my one true gripe. I've played around with amethyst and yabai and also find them just a little too shaky to rely on. I miss the rock solid nature of i3/bspwm. And trying t

Of course, that makes sense. I liked how Levine highlighted that using the figures here for the acquisition cost we can ballpark the warm leads as ~1000x more valuable than the trash leads.

That makes sense. It's just funny to think of this entire company essentially existing as a glorified landing page/warm transfer to a huge bank.

I'm naive to this space, but would this perhaps have just been legit business if they had done it in reverse order? 1. First buy data from ASL. Instead of 4.5M, buy as many as you can, like 40M, the entire 15-24 population if they got

Wow, the coverup is actually even more hilarious than the initial fraud here. Kind of clever, you can see they thought they might get away with it. > 133. While Javice was working with the Data Science Professor in early August 2021, Ama

Nice theory. In practice all this does is make it harder to onboard new people. Quick test: It's your 2nd week on the job. Some core system just went down, and you've been assigned to figure out what service is causing the trouble

Yeah, I actually find it pretty unbelievable that even in legal states where the business has been around over a decade, you still get these pseudoscientific claims about potency or effects. I wonder when the industry will "grow up&quo

It's a great point that the cannabinoid ratio has a dramatic effect on the high. Ever since high CBD:THC oils became available in cartridge form, I personally switched ratios in the 15-25:1 range. This is like 2% THC, but likewise I fi

I think a lot of times unless you are operating at hyperscale and bps matter, most business data analysis is more art than science. Ex, if you have < 200 sales in a month and you want to report this, it's totally normal to want to p

I have a similar story (albeit at a much smaller scale). Around 2017 when you could still mine eth-derived altcoins feasibly with a GPU, I repurposed my old gaming PC into a mining rig with a few old cards. I took off the side and taped a b

Yes, I agree, it really does come down to the animation speed. If you could disable animations, MacOS would almost work as well as Linux, since you can natively bind hotkeys to almost everything supported in i3/bspwm type environments.
