For anyone interested in more information, I found the research paper[0] and website for the currency named "Unit-e"[1]. The paper seems to be quite extensive at 168 pages long and covers a lot more than the blockchain design. [0]

NX does not need to be disabled[1] for the binary thanks to W^X[0]. As long as pages are never mapped as writeable and executable at the same time, you don't lose any protection. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W

For anyone (understandably) confused about the attacks and mitigations related to L1TF, I've found the linux kernel documentation on the mitigations[0] to be a great resource. One interesting thing is that to mitigate L1TF hyperthreads

It's interesting to compare this to the idea of the brain having two systems of cognition: a "System 1" process that is automatic and quick to respond, relying on memorized behaviors; and a "System 2" process that i

Just a correction on this, 1 million tons is equal to around 240 million gallons [0], which is roughly the volume of 362 olympic sized swimming pools[1]. [0] http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1+million+tons+of+water.
