Apple News+ is going after this market. I don’t pay for it but when I have browsed it I would say they do a good job.

Not that I’ve had either phone but I would say you’re likely in the minority. I have the iPhone 12 and have always been happy with the iPhone cameras. It’s not like it even comes close to my DSLR but they’re decent for phones. I haven’t had

I was under the impression that there were no Dolby Vision reference monitors, and that different players, like Sony and Oppo, output Dolby Vision encoded 4K Blu-rays differently, and thus there is no ’correct’ interpretation of the metadat

Bad multiple choice sets reminded me of a history class my friend took in summer school. All the questions were multiple choice, and the teacher was extremely lazy and decided that the answer bank for every question would just be randomly

Are you really arguing that the number of blocks and the number of transactions in BitCoin are two variables that are “unrelated and not even correlated“? Of course they’re related. It’s trivial.

A few people have mentioned Apollo 11 but I prefer (and my favorite documentary of all time is) For All Mankind (1989). They’re similar, iirc they share a lot of the same footage, but For All Mankind gives you a great sense of what it was

This is what baffles me the most. A few years ago I was ordering a fair amount off Postmates. One night I ordered something that was decently expensive. When it came the food looked nothing like the picture and was so bad it was borderlin

To add, Elon actually accepted an advisory position for Trump when he became President, but quit less than 6 months in after voicing his disagreement on leaving the Paris Agreement. [1] That’s exactly the opposite of being in the Trump camp

Maybe I’m missing something, but if Nature charges that much to publish why does anyone publish in Nature? Why don’t academics just create their own ‘ethically priced’ journal? It’s my understanding that most of Nature’s labor is voluntar

Well I have a Math BA and I can say that I haven’t done much long division by hand in the past few years but I sure know how to do it.

Frankly I don’t see how this legislation could possibly bring massive good. For one I like my iPhone how it is and don’t see how I could possibly benefit from this passing. As an American I think regulation should only be enacted when abso

No, I bought a dongle on Amazon that I use for my M1 Air for $60. It takes up both USB-C ports, but it handles power, can do 4K@60Hz HDMI (only for 1 display though), has an SD card reader, a few USB-A ports, and maybe another USB-C port.

Yes, obviously. I really don’t see how one could possibly sympathize with this argument. Say I go to a bakery and I only “sort of” want a cookie. I’m not hungry enough to pay for it, so I just take it, and claim “I’m not actually stealin

Counterpoint: Twitter lost over half its value in the past year (share price from $70 to $33). Can the board justify that they’re on track to turn that around so quickly? Frankly the board doesn’t seem capable of ‘unlocking Twitter’s value

I feel like this is the outcome that would occur. Similar to how some of the most secure software is open-source (Linux).

I’m skeptical of this. This sounds similar to the way Koko “learned” sign language. While this video is long, it explains the controversy very well: https://youtu.be/e7wFotDKEF4

The research hasn’t yet been published in academic journals, or peer-reviewed. I believe that why that specific language was used. Nonetheless I find these new discoveries fascinating.

I realize that the only reason they don’t have an iOS app is because Apple didn’t let them, but OnlyFans is doing very well as a web based service. It’s certainly not iOS-or-nothing.

Are the long term goals of crypto-enthusiasts for crypto to completely replace fiat currency? I can’t imagine a world without fiat currency, for the simple reason that governments operate in a deficit. A world without fiat currency would i
