I think it's a reaction to there being a new build system announced fairly frequently. A while ago I actually started writing up a "Make for web development" tutorial file similar to Isaac's gist (linked in the article).

True, that is my understanding as well – still, though, requires that you have that SVG in your HTML in the first place. The CSS approach (in my link anyway, not necessarily OP's) can be incorporated without any updates to your existin

Unfortunately I'm not the OP. I only designed the unrelated demo in my comment (which does use alpha transparency btw to blend in with whatever background color/image one might use).

I'm not sure, because I haven't tried it, but: assume the markup and scripts are locked down, and you're only offered CSS as a means to theme a site's look & feel – how then would the SVG markup get on the page? Such

I've made this before [1], here are at least a few reasons: - smoother than GIFs - GIFs don't have full alpha transparency - much easier to customize and adapt to different themes/sites/etc. [1] http://brianbe

Camel case results in several sources of frustration for me: 1. Is it userID or userId? HTTPClient or HttpClient? Leaving this additional stylistic choice up to people results in conflicting styles even within the scope of "camel case&

Hmm, I watched from your starting timestamp for a good 10 minutes or so, and the point being made seemed to be that the government should have gone for ISP regulation sooner (or at least done something to prevent ISP monopolization sooner).

All of the examples shown are animating things that are being directly manipulated, not something in your periphery. What would you be concentrating on while you're dragging something with your finger?

I had an unexpected need to write some Tcl recently when I had to wrap a command line tool in a helper script in order to add some features and automation. Turns out the Unix tool `expect' was designed exactly for this purpose and was

I'm wondering if charges of criminal negligence come into play (1) only for cases of physical harm (all the examples on Wikipedia are people dying but I don't see why that would be necessary) and (2) only if actual harm comes to p

I just put the same items into an order on eat24.com, which is how I'd normally do this. The order came to $30.38, which is exactly $2 less than what Magic quoted. That's before you have the opportunity to add a tip. So either the

Definitely not in the long run. But cmikec's latest update here put it in perspective – they had to limit access while this request was being handled because they were getting totally flooded.

FWIW, OS X has a menu bar on every screen since 10.9, and you can indeed jump/select words, just substitute Option in place of Control (always been that way AFAIK). What's "the standard" keyboard layout? Looking forward

One can write a book about literally anything. But besides that, it already "required" a book – at least two of them in fact, both published before Google even announced SPDY: "High Performance Web Sites" [1] in 2007 and

Also interesting, how features of a username might correlate with password strength. Who do you think uses a stronger password, someone with the username "carguy551978" or someone with the username "w1ntermute"?
