I should have been more explicit, you're right it's not necessary for SSH with keys. I was thinking more about preventing spam on web servers.

I should clarify it isn't blocked in the traditional sense. It loads a benign script that pretends to be GA but doesn't touch Google servers at all, to avoid breaking sites that expect GA to be available.
