Awesome, thanks! I typically just drop in Bootstrap with a Rails gem but this is good to know.

Just that the client didn't want the two different sizes for desktop. Nothing in particular, just didn't have time to invest into that and it wasn't really providing that much benefit for the site we were working on.

Right, but if I want to disable it right now, I simply remove the include and updates to Bootstrap don't require me to do any extra work. If it's not easy to remove, I'm guessing that I can just set the large format to something ridiculousl

I just want to second this. I participated in GSoC 2009 and absolutely loved it. I'm from the US and worked with 2 mentors in Switzerland, a student in India and a student Colombia. We worked on a package management system like APT for Wind

I know that feeling. One of the best ways is to just ask one of the developers on a project you like. There's always something to do.

How well does this work cross browser/OS? It looks nice. Have you considered submitting this as a pull request to Bootstrap?

Plenty of people still use it, but like anything "being cool" doesn't last for that long. Lots of people still use Perl, but it's not necessarily talked about as being "cool" for example.

I had exactly the same experience. Long time Python developer, and then got into Rails and haven't looked back. Really love the readability of the language.

I had similar thoughts on this. A lot of people express interest in learning how to program. The problem is that the majority of things out there are don't explain why, and choosing which language or framework to use ends up being a flip of

I live in one of the better parts of STL and a woman was killed only 4 blocks from my apartment a few weeks ago. It's definitely becoming more and more of a problem here.

That feeling of shipping really really helps you on the next task as well. Shipping a side project like this (nicely done btw!) is great motivation for any work you need to do too.
