You just don't know much about android dev it seems. When an app gets put in the background it gets an event from the OS it's then the devs job to not keep everything loaded in the background but most don't.

They don't but they both perform much better than Apple on the subject. React is one of the leaders in JS dev and several other Facebook projects are quite useful. Microsoft is the company with the biggest number of open source contrib

It seems to be one guy working on the full project which is opensource so you could do PRs to fix it or donate money. It's easy to point issues and not do anything to help.
