I am saying about blocking native main thread not js one for sure. 90% of the time people saying it is not shutter are 1) use very simple ui that does nothing or 2) it shutter they just have low bar for Android in general.

I stopped measuring sizes unfortunatelly, since nowadays you can cut heavy native part to pieces and deliver them separately and native part is out of my concern. We use webrtc anyway, so it won't be super light. I could recommend RN i

This is so sad that i wasted time explaining something while you don't even know that typescript is statically typed language. That's the whole reasoning behind typescript. It is more powerful because it flexible because it's

Our app is much better written in RN than the one i built in native code. RN doesn't have native bugs - they are worked around unlike pure native development when you have to live with them. Have you tried to customize UINavigationCont

All Android API executes animations on main thread except for vector animations, but in reality you need transitions to be fast.

No problem, you write this code once and reuse everywhere and you fixing bugs for all apps instead of hacking all by yourself for each platform. After coding for more than 10 years RN approach is so much better than native one.

Very cool! I just really recommend to use our library ( https://github.com/openland/react-native-fast-animations ) for non interactive animations like appearing and disappearing. Since iOS and Android could block UI thre

I bet they could not. It will ruin whole internet with little gain since you still need application level pings anyway because issue could be in a broken server, not on TCP level.

Aha, show me how i can access low level TCP stuff from JS. Browsers could do this, but they would not.

No one cares about server side pings. On server it is not an issue at all - feel free to hold dead connections for a while. Networking issues are always on customer side, you have to detect it from the app otherwise it will literally freeze

The biggest issue with TCP is that it can randomly freeze and you have to restart it in pretty much any network. You CAN NOT rely on socket closing on any side, you have to maintain connection by yourself. I am super puzzled why something l

It could take much longer. Ping between US and EU is ~100-150ms. If TLS is an old one with 3 round trips it is a full second.
