Friend of mine started doing edtech company and shown me his prototype and it blowed my mind: he simply designed stuff after WoW gameplay. It looks and feels addictive, it is collaborative and stuff. This is clearly the future indeed.

This is a price of 200m^2 flat in the center of Saint Petersburg, Russia. With ~same prices for food that makes ~x3 to the price of food. In what world this is ok for homeless to pay that much?

For JS it is the same - moving empty div or moving whole window - it is still same amount of code and actual moving is always on different threads. It works for native apps too.

You really rarely see native components. Try to take a look at Telegram for iOS - there are zero built-in components: literally everything is rebuilt from scratch - navigation, buttons, toggles, all animations, etc. "Non-native" i

GUI is something like an API, let's take React Native - you just have an api to rendering (via bridge), same for X server, same for almost any GUI framework. This is a very very tiny part of an app. UI libraries with prebuilt controls

Woah putting telegram to the same bucket is insane - their network was permined, true, but unlocking value exchanging of 500m users makes this a tiny drop in the ocean. Unlike Signal, sigh.
