Nope, initial traction came not from VK. Source: I worked at Telegram since it's launch.

I tried and in my case it was 2x times slower. Probably, because of extensive use of reflection or something like this.

In 2018 i feel same (we are using sequelize). I haven't found something that work faster than sequelize, but API is absolutely useless for anything other than simple joins. May be someone knows good ORM for js with nice query builders?

Sure, but then our database will be a bottleneck and we actually can just use SQL for everything and not to forward information to another storage (like Redis) since there are no benefits. If you will deploy live system several times a day,

Trying to solve something like this always puzzled me: how to make job publishing transactional? There are no simple way to do transaction across redis and, say, postgres. If you wish to make thing reliable, you will have to put job to an s

While i don't have much experience in RN, but have a decade of mobile native development (android + iOS) and two years of React. The whole 10 years there were people that think that they can just get "web" technology and spee

Udacity is a bit strange example. This means that they have what? triple size of react native in their main app? That's weird because on android react native blows APK to much larger percentage.

Most of the UI on mobile is custom, material libraries are also not that "native" and usually lagging behind the current specs.

Sure, but this is not a very clean way. Reverse proxy is not a problem for sure, but writing Resolvers will be a huge pain with no way to make something hacky that won't blow up the whole server.

What most of the tutorials are usually missing is versioning and schema hygiene. I am building APIs for last 6(?) years and in graphql there are no clean way to have different versions (intentionally) and after only half year of rapid itera

It is very useful if you want to make your devs not client or server but both. This works well in many organizations that i have seen: developer is responsible to build feature from ground to top - this speeds up things a lot.

Can you share some sources? I tried to process simple CSV files in a very straight forward (but async) way and got reading 200mb CSV and just splitting it to columns (with simple split by comma) takes ~10 seconds. Also simplest HTTP request
