You realize, of course, if I ran a website criticizing something it would show a lot of hits for that thing right? Quantity alone doesn't tell us much here.

You are right. They will be affected. It is not practical to try to limit speech/ads etc. It's not one of the values we have traditionally had. What does this leave us with? Power will always attract money so let's have less power.

I'm sorry but this is terribly thoughtless. When you are given something the giver may be impoverished (ignoring any pleasure they get from giving) but when you provide a service or sell something both sides are happy. One receives the mo

Star Trek viewing correlated with higher IQ. Now what? Anytime you divide a population that's large along any category or measure you will find many many correlations.

I think this deserved pointing out. I'm not sure where this Don Dodge is great stuff comes from or what it's based on but these few posts about him do make him seem coin-operated. The best developer evangelists are able to be sincere, tho

What difference do the motivations make? Browsers are now free. If I can get a few more apps free with my OS, I'd like those too.

Where do we see these higher prices in the long term? Not in the browser market. Where else? I'm sure there are some examples but they must be few and far between. Not even Standard Oil got pricing power.

Free trade is the default. It has to deliberately made otherwise. Restricted trade serves only special interests and since the world is gradually trying to move towards undoing trade restrictions I don't see why this is a good argument.
