I would assume/hope that for serious self driving the ML neural net stuff is lower down , doing the messy computer vision work and so on. But the top level is a conventional program written by humans, like an expert system. Tesla are

AI slop. The more you look at an image the more bizarre stuff you see. Eg. It seems obsessed with various types of electrical substation and junction boxes. Those things dont just grow like lichen or something, they are planned. It put a bu

The people of the USA really remind me of the people of Russia: totally depoliticized. I think in the USA many people are really focused on a pointless culture war yet aren't politically active at all.

But is it simply trading actual concrete functionality and usability in exchange for the concept of "superficially looks nicer to certain people in a marketing image" ?

One of the benefits of the USA no longer being an ally is we should be able to ignore all this sort of bullshit in the EU now. Cory Doctorow was talking about it recently. https://youtu.be/3C1Gnxhfok0?si=OzjYwL16yLzQUwuY

You dont need to become hysterical, just look at the data. There's loads coming to light about the deleterious health effects of social media, that's not the case for books.

The title made me think NY would be running a mental health ad campiagn but the messages would only be visible on big social media platforms.. Tbh that seems a more likely interpretation of the title in 2025.

I dont think that's a useful way of thinking.. A well known family member could also randomly kill you. Either one is extremely unlikely.

Any country without nukes, that is not currently developing them, is stupid imo.. Nukes are the only thing that can guarantee sovereignty now. Ukraine gave up their nukes.

I live in Ireland, there's practically 0 opportunity to get exposed to the sun unless you work outdoors, and even then only your face and hands and perhaps forearms get exposed. I just take vitamin D tablets. Also I know UV goes throug

Being a "loyal customer" to any giant corp is just making it extra convenient for them when they fuck you.. You need your stuff as files on a computer you actually control.

I will never not find it insane that in college they have word minimums for essays, instead of maximums. Imo going to college ruins many people's ability to write clearly.

I disagree, going from C# with full visual studio (having a compiler with a lot of information about your code), and all of .net available, to gdscript feels like moving to a kids toy language like Scratch. I could do everything in gdscri
