I do too, but I found it non-trivial to actually secure the podman container. I described my approach here [1]. I'm very interested to hear your approach. Any specific podman flags or do you use another tool like toolbx/distrobox?

Another approach I wrote to protect your system from untrusted dependencies (for Linux devs): https://evertheylen.eu/p/probox-intro/ Happy to hear other people's thoughts!

Why don't we embrace proportional (i.e. not monospace) fonts more for coding? IMHO, they are a big step up when it comes to legibility. I personally switched after I noticed reading stuff in the sidebar (which is usually in a proportio

Fully agree, that's why my python script is ultimately just a simple wrapper for podman but it makes my life a lot easier anyway.

toolbx is not actually intended to provide any security or isolation, see e.g. https://github.com/containers/toolbox/issues/183

If any developers are looking to isolate different dev projects from each other using containers, I wrote a tool for it (using podman), maybe someone finds it useful or can thrash its security. Find the code on https://github.com

This sounds enticing! I use multiple dispatch in JS but I wrote my own library for it. Could you give an example of how one would use proxies to do multiple dispatch?

Interesting! I may not have found it because I dislike Youtube for technical content. It's definitly an interesting benchmark. Using replicas in Kubernetes, but not `cluster.fork()` feels like a complicated choice to me, but I don'

Quite simple, I want to submit a Docker image, and have it accept HTTP requests at a certain domain, with easy horizontal/vertical scaling. I'm sure your Elastic Compute product is nice but I don't want to set it up myself (l

I think it's pretty good? Certainly better than what I expect of an average (non-Mac) laptop. It is placed on the long side of the screen, which makes sense if you want to use it for video conferencing (in contrast to the iPad, which h

Lots of people in here talking about trying to use to a tablet for productivity, but finding iPad OS a bit lacking. I'd cautiously suggest you check out the Samsung Tab S7(+). It is likely considered a worse tablet by many, but Samsung

I'm curious, why don't you use a 'normal' browser? I use Notion quite heavily myself, and have never had any performance issues in Firefox (on Linux).

I too am a big Notion fan. However, I have a ton of things I would improve, two of which I kinda solved already: drawing input [0] and inline math [1]. The success of these has led me to create a small slack group to discuss other such hack
