You can definitely only write parts of your app in effect. That’s what I do and it works great. Just be mindful about where you want that boundary between effect and non effect parts to be and it’s easy. The effect parts end up so much more

You can already have all of this goodness (and then some) in typescript https://effect.website/ -- Writing TS without Effect is difficult for me now, it's like a whole new and better language.

YMMV, but I've found it really does work and isn't a gimmick. It gets problems right that Cursor, Roo, Windsurf, etc trip up on because somehow it finds exactly the relevant stuff for context at a granularity you can't really

The thing that kills me about touch uis is the chance that this problem can happen at all. For some unknown reason designers insist on putting most controls at the top of the screen. I guess because that’s where they usually are on desktop

No I don’t. I just created an account for the first time. I just wanted to point out augment since nobody had mentioned it and it seemed relevant. Roo code is another very good alternative that’s better than cursor but it requires a bit mor

Cursor isn’t very good. It aggressively limits context I assume to save money. Augment runs circles around it.
