It might be riskier than you think. All my friends knew about the shortage, and their plans to water down remaining stocks. However, Maker's reversal might not generate the same buzz that their initial shortage announcement did. That leave

Plex really needs to make an Android app for the TV experience. Similar to what they do with their desktop based player.

Unless you're on Verizon (unlimted LTE) and can't get Tmo, or won't deal with greater of all evils (ATT). Plus most of CM gripes with the S3 are related to Exynos SoC and not the Qualcomm SoC.

Their enterprise division is huge, and Office is still a cash cow. They may have to trim some fat at some point, but they aren't even close to hurting.

I grew up in Michigan, and now live in Wisconsin. I've never considered Kansas City, or Missouri/Kansas as part of the Midwest. Do most people in KC identify with the Midwest? *Edit: Now that I think about it, I guess I've always kind of co

I think you're missing some of the major pros for Google... With this new app, they control all of the branding, all of the upstream data gathering, and paid ads.

I heard a cool piece on NPR the other day, talking about the benefits some schools and students are seeing by implementing flip teaching. Essentially, the hour long lectures are presented as a podcast/video/whatever and are to be viewed at

How is the overall "star" rating compiled? Is it simply an average of every rating? I think a hybrid system using Amazon's "Was this review helpful" to add weight to each review. If it's obviously a garbage review, people would vote down t

It just seems more natural to fill in a line than to fill in a circle. Your wrist is more stable and less shaky to make a couple straight lines with a marker.

Bubbles seem stupid to me. It's a lot easier and less subjective on review to fill in an arrow than it is to fill in a bubble. Here's an example ballot of what I'm talking about: http://www.town.oregon.wi.us/uploads/ckfiles/images/nov_06_

I don't want to come across as a comment crapper, but I've been recommending FreeNAS for years now. ZFS is perfect for home NAS purposes.

How far off is the technology to combine this type of screen with your typical LCD tablet screen? I would love to read on a "paperwhite" screen, and watch movies/surf on a standard tablet screen, all on one device.

Will they seamlessly let you use Google services in a non-hackish way? I don't want to use Bing, Live, Sky, etc. I'm afraid unless I buy an open source OS, I'll be pushed into an ecosystem without choice.

Each provider still has take down rules in place, which propagate to the other providers. I guess if the copyright holders monitor every file like a hawk, they can send tons of take downs and pretty much cripple the library.

Doesn't the trackpad differ between the original X1 and the Carbon? From his wording, it sounds like the drivers work well, but the physical trackpad is the limitation. I am also looking for a Linux laptop with a good trackpad.

I'm pretty sure they switched their stance on "too much" termination. Also, I believe while on a call you can transfer off of wifi, but not on to it.
