and even if compilers were those that generate machine code (and they're not), what's wrong with (source-to-source) translator?

Correct me if I'm wrong but IIRC HM is not applicable with class-based inheritance. How do you (plan to) deal with this? BTW I really like the idea of a typed, compilable Python, keep it up!

You can setup your build process to "delombok" your sources, so that the dependency would only be compile-time (which is pretty neat). Also, Lombok has @Data http://projectlombok.org/features/Data.html

Kotlin is pretty nice for that. Also, project lombok is nice for Java code generation. I wish it became more "standard"

Many of these gotchas have been known for quite a while. I suggest, for people who still don't know it, to read the UNIX-HATERS handbook - homepage http://homes.cs.washington.edu/~weise/unix-haters.html - working

I may be wrong here, but isn't implicit tag closing consequence of html deriving from sgml? mandatory tag closing is something that came with xml AFAIK

well, let me add my old project http://flatpress.org it does feel dated, as it uses BBCode, but there plugins for Markdown. If I had the time, I would make MD the default nowadays.
