I think neural nets are approved that with more than 2 hidden layers, it can approximate any functuons. Is there any literature for other algorithms as well?

I see otherwise, those end2end approaches are indeed leading me to think might that deep learning is the one algorithm that could help us discovery the universal representation of knowledge.

Same with code. Abstracted code often leads to less efficient performance. With large volume, every bit of optimization matters, and Apple has that money to squash the last bit out of it.

And what is the significance of this? Seriously, is there going to be some consequence to Uber by doing this? Is this practice illegal? Or it is just morally condemnable?

Not surprising. And I doubt other country can do the same. Several factors makes China a unique case: 1. Massive domestic market, China along can have its own internet ecosystem, which is the fundamental reason why GFW can endure. 2.Conform

So it math. Most find it boring, but some of them will eventually find their way back to it, and discover that they can be pretty good at it. It is not going to be work for everyone, but will definitely attract more people to this area.

It is already happening. The whole deep learning thing is no joke. They cannot replace human, but can achieve close to or better than human level of performance in certain specific tasks. Before that, close to human performance is never ach

Agree. To attract devs to using your spec, then eventually go to your platform. But since the spec are open, AMZN/MS can make their own too. So it is still a good thing.
