As an iOS user, I do not want the publisher knowing anything about me. I'm happy to pay for the app, but I do not want to tell the publisher a single thing other than the fact that it is paid. Nothing else. I do not want to share my em

Are you listed on any contacts or WHOIS? One of my friends got it to every single possible ARIN POC - abuse, noc, any named users for their IP space, and any emails that could be found for their domain.

I really hope not, because of the amount of abuse that happens in family and domestic situations. This absolutely needs to be approved by the account holder. No amount of death certificates should let you in.

In all fairness, the intended readership of that blog would know it. It's like handing a random technical Go or Rust post to a strictly-business non-technical person.

Most universities already punish you for attaching anything to their network that isn't an end user device. I know a switch or router in my old dorm will result in a near instant switchport disable, even with DHCP off.

At least for Iran, all ISPs are upstreamed through the state (TIC, ITC, etc, see the map of AS12880 and related), they can just drop that one choke point and everyone is offline. Ethiopia only has one AS/provider apparently: 24757 ETHI
