That has not been my experience. In a C# shop, if you want to do something not-C#, best is to switch employers. I don't say that placing such high value just into what tool you use is smart; but changing tools in a company is often a

Newspapers and literature are quite distinct. Good authors do not require the smokescreen that typical journalists use. Whatever the language.

Below someone quoted this: "it will be assumed that all foie gras came from duck or geese that have been force-fed unless “documentary” evidence is provided to the contrary." So, non-force-feed remains legal.

As linked somewhere else, but for video affine people, and directly relevant, see this old Ted talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/dan_barber_s_surprising_foie_gras_...

Neither one interprets the sequence, but cat will print the file unfiltered to stdout, and stdout is processed by your terminal, and then the terminal will interpret it. less filters before printing to the terminal.

The escape sequence is terminal specific. urxvt is likely different from xterm in this regard.

Catting a file will your terminal make interpret escape codes in the file. For instance: $ echo -e "\033]0;${USER} is an unfriendly person\007" > test-file.txt Then, many days later: $ cat test-file.txt will c

Well, honestly, I think for that type of knowledge, Wikipedia is actually a very bad starting point. It could have become something like that, but ... I blame Deletionism, and more importantly, the general aversity to "know how"

Simple keywords for definitions can make grepping for stuff much easier. Given that shell allows other forms, it isn't that helpful in practice. I still use it because my eyes find start-of-definition faster with common patterns that

Definitely apocryphal, I heard the same story told from a local car manufacturer's perspective (in Austria, so other country and other industry). But it seems back then Japan really made a name for itself w.r.t. quality control. Ther

Not in every place in the US you need a car, not in every place in Europe you have a bakery around the corner. We are talking half-continent sized areas with several hundred million people. There is quite a variance. But more to the point

edit: If no air exchange, it dries slower, inviting mold. There is such a thing like an ideal "drying to age" ratio to keep age-related staleness at a minimum w/o having to care for mold. What I mean is, older bread should

Are you keeping the bread in an open or a closed container, and what's the humidity in the room like? Here at home at 25 deg Celsius and <60% rel. humidity, a correctly stored whole grain bread doesn't grow mold in a week. It

Modern fridges have temperature sensors, per-drawer ventilated air-cooling, auto-detection of when particular high-thermal mass un-frozen food (i.e. a turkey) is added and start quick-freezing, and provide alarms when door or cooling fail.

Many supermarkets import both, and even after that excessively long transport from NZ to EU you can easily tell the difference, both by look and by taste. Definitively different breed. I personally also prefer the NZ version.

Just as a short aside, IIRC there is evidence that because of the very long association between humans and dogs, dogs actually _did_ evolve to make good use of some of humans' throwaways, compared to their wild relatives. I don't
