Yeah I believe it was a relatively recent (~ previous 6 months?) update that allowed for the disabling of remote login. Source: I disabled remote login on my UDM Pro. Further, they finally patched the Unify Network (iOS) app a couple mont

Can't edit anymore, so replying. Can anyone tell me why this is apparently not a concern? Genuinely curious especially in light of this article.

Sometimes I wonder how much of the push against remote work from certain large companies comes down to the increased discoverability (in the legal sense) of employee communications over Slack/Teams/etc vs in person...

Ah don't forget the same variation of foolery that comes around if you 180 into a grind. What most people would call a nose grind or 5-0 is inverted if you 180'd into it. > And remember, never carry your board by your truck :)

Essentially the same trick. Best metaphor for “switch” tricks is basically doing something left handed (assuming you’re right handed and have always done the “thing” with your right). It’s the same trick but you essentially have to relearn

I don’t know about mathematical, but I’ve always thought of it as a vertical vs horizontal motion with the front foot used as as kind of rotation axis for an impossible… “I know it when I see it” (maybe)

Upvote for Syntorial. Hands down one of the most effective learning tools I’ve used in any domain.

Yeah to be clear I don’t mean to say a liberal arts education is literally only worth $1.50. I personally place immense value on learning. Just to point out that much like working at a high level in tech, a degree is actually not a hard pre

“You wasted $150,000 on an education you coulda got for $1.50 in late fees at the public library” Of course not everyone is autodidactic so the path is not for everyone, but it is indeed quite possible to acquire this kind of knowledge/

I personally dislike the hybrid approach because it means everyone still has to remain in the greater Bay Area. Surely there have to be more people like me that enjoy the bigco work but want to live in more human friendly places where we ha

Just want to jump in and show some appreciation for Michener’s historical fictions. The Source is great, and Hawaii is one of my all time favorite books.

I like this. It seems like this could also be within the scope of a single fund? The fund would own mineral rights, investors could buy in expecting those rights to appreciate in value over a very long term. I suppose you’d want a few fund

It’s almost as if rage is an overpowering emotion that is unlikely to stay narrowly targeted. Edit: this was unnecessarily flippant. Real lives are being horrifically affected and I truly feel for your community.

I actually agree with everything you’re saying. But the real world demands compromise. There is no ideal authority.

You and I see different problems here. To me, the problem is a platform (and therefore legitimacy) has been granted to someone who abuses that power at every turn. We (those arguing against you) are not empowering Twitter as the new POTUS,
