Snipply[1] is a great option for you. It will be released shortly! It allows you to create "Cards" or snippets of any size, of any part of the document, and save it, version it, and sync it with any other document. Even with docum

It might not be "luck" but it certainly is privilege, I would call it "Economic/Wealth privilege". Which isn't to say it means purely rich vs poor, but it's much easier to be in an environment that fosters

I understand how that would work for Mortgage payments as they are controlled/facilitated by banks, and the government has the ability to coordinate with banks (in an ideal case). But how might the federal government enforce suspension

The binaries themselves don't have issues. But Go's descision to make the standard library Unix focused isn't a flawed design decision. If you need OS/platform-specific precision, you're free to create or use an alt

Umm..what? Ubuntus primary use case was not web services, it was a user-friendly PC OS compared to the Linux variants at the time. It's picked up a lot in the server space because of the familiarity of it, with respect to package manag

I'm farmilliar with Automerge, but not its specific features on state compression. In general change set compression is possible with CRDTs but there are some "gotchas" you need to look out for. Most notably, all peers intere

Preserving the position of the cursor is a crucial feature for collab editors. However, he doesnt go into detail explaining why CRDTs make this feature impossible. Sure the CRDT route splits the text, but I fail to see why that makes cursor

With regards to IPFS (don't have much experience with Dat), I have a hard time understanding how choosing Go to implement their protocol, as well as Javascript makes it doomed for obscurity. A lot of distributed/decentralized appl

Except in the DID instance, you can represent a DID using a CID. This is how IPFS creates their implementation called IPID[0]. DID is a schema/protocol for DID and DDO, and its associated content. Its one step higher then a CID. [0] -

I may be wrong, but are you thinking of DIDs as an ID for an object, like CIDs in IPFS. If so, then you are confusing what DIDs are for. They're created as a method of using some distributed network as a backend for a entity (could be

I think his point was that concurrency is riddled with gotchas regardless, and channels reduce them, but not remove them.

The way I see it, if you are using a contract and you don't know that there is a sole owner that has the ability to upgrade the underlying contract to something else, which could be nefarious, then that is in the same wheel house as us

I second this. Came here to comment the same thing and figured I'd check if someone already had. Love the website, exceptionally clean and well designed.

Many of Lee Smolin's books are phenomenal, and despite being very indepth into their subject matter, are easy and enjoyable to read. Trouble With Physics is my favorite.

I think its pretty fair to assume to comment was referring to the process of tricking a website into thinking you are at a different IP address then what is actually assigned by your ISP... :/

They just updated the article that the subpoena was actually sent on December 6th. So this is already technically old news. Just more FUD being thrown around by news outlets that should know better.

Seeing as most ICO are ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum chain you are most certainly incorrect about your deflationary theory implying appreciation. Since most ERC20 tokens are 100% premined and sold during the ICO, there is no concept of "

Maybe ill just run a public db server for my own use with some auth, and have all my instances just point to that. Any reason you can think of for why a remote instance wouldn't work (would just try to swap in mysql or something)?

Nevermind, another comment mentions AWS. You seem to pretty much run at cost then (a little less), if you GPU hours are $0.432 @ 2 cores, 32G, and a k80. Then packing a p2 instance would run you $7.2 (or $14.4, etc..) and back of the napkin
