How would I discern that from the AI slop images and AI formatting? What you just said is not signal, it's things you privately know. There are a lot of blogs out there. You need to appear superficially worth reading before I know your

Why would I not just type in "how do I correctly balance towards action in a new role" into chatgpt and read that instead? I have no signal that the author did anything beyond that himself.

The reason TDD never really caught on is because it doesn't really work. You don't know in advance what tests need to exist. A test suite is not sufficient to understand the program. Nor is a spec sufficient to understand the prog

I am pretty tired of this analogy because it does not hold up to scrutiny. The purpose of a programming language is to describe a logical routine in deterministic nonambiguous language. A program is a set of nonambiguous instructions. Heigh

> and it will tell you [why it did something] No, it will invent retroactively a plausible sounding reason why someone might have done it that way. These are very different things.

Thank you for having the conviction and presence of mind to actually answer the question. I don't know if I agree with your solution being a net good, but juxtaposed against the other replies here I am glad you gave a reasoned response

Perhaps the most personally impactful positive change that a president has ever enacted in my lifetime. Bravo. Trump is fucking up a lot, but this is a win for all American tech workers.

When the mechanisms of government fail, violence is sometimes necessary and justified.

Wow, the responses to your comment are maybe the worst set of responses I've ever seen on this website. Only one person answered you. I don't understand how the rest can hold their positions and not have an immediate answer to you

Seconded. I refused to use AI for mostly the OP's reason despite extreme pressure. I ended up quiet quitting until it was untenable and then found a new job in a regulated market; think fintech/healthtech type. That place is more

The more people stand to lose, the more they fear losing it? shocking. (I don't even think that's true. Southern border states are a lot more concerned with illegal crossings than anywhere else. People who have to live near ethnic

Sure. Unless you prefer autocratic rule by a moral paragon, democracy involves doing what people want, not what is moral. Often what is nominally moral is not good for the country or its people.

Countries are not merely economic zones..! While I don't even agree with you (skilled immigrants are very different from unskilled), even if I did, anti immigration sentiment is largely about culture. I would prefer to live in my own

You are conflating morality with proper governance. Democratic government must enact the will of the citizen body, even if immoral in some frameworks.

I'm sympathetic, as I also don't have an account, but honestly I don't think requiring a free account that takes 10 seconds to make and needs no personal info constitutes "completely hostile to allowing you to see it.&qu

I had a similar interview and I find it to be a stupid question. Of course I know AI can oneshot it, and of course I know you know it can. But I'm aware this is an interview so you're probably assessing something about my skills.

My opinion is that juniors should be barred from using AI and have a compensation structure heavily based around long-term vesting. This lets you train them properly without wasting a bunch of money if they leave right after getting trained

You clearly care way too much about what is just a job. 15 years at a big 5 you should be quite wealthy. A layoff is just a vacation. I say this not to be glib but because your anger here belies a way of thinking that is unhealthy and unpro
