I also did something like this a few years ago (with Go templating instead of Jsonnet), but we recently replaced it with Kustomize ( https://kustomize.io/ ) as it worked quite well for the basic use case of getting shared Kub

Good point about Apple making money off the Google search deal. Maybe a search engine is in the works already (or a deal to buy Duck Duck Go).

That isn’t consistent with the difference in dependency on advertising that occurs from app to app. It could be, however, that the device-level prompt could set the default for future app-level prompts. (That sounds annoying in retrospect,

Sure degoogle, but that point about Google earnings from ads having dropped doesn’t seem relevant to Google abusing its power, or being incompetent at its core business. I would be surprised if it wasn’t because of COVID-19 shock and that t

This is a good question. It's funny, I'm the technical co-founder at my startup, so I hadn't thought to make the distinction between high and low visibility work. I guess we're small enough that I think about it as high

But isn’t that better than code (especially if working) that gets scratched? I think designs that are scratched indicate you don’t understand the value you contribute to your company (or that management sees in you) which should be the root

In my experience, it’s not the same. Design docs allow a dialogue about the resulting code that code reviews are poorer at or less efficient at. Those conversations have saved us time and gives us confidence that the solution is the best fo

What are some high quality non-Material, non-Cupertino themes that any Flutter (mobile) developers can recommend? Material is well done, except I really don't like the actual design. Cupertino looks more like iOS 7 than iOS 14 and lack

I too think it’s a poor response from the head of the App Store but we shouldn’t pretend to think we know the “actual” reason that much better because we are given a link to the ever-changing App Store regulations webpage.

I doubt that was a real factor, but maybe the webpage itself is. It is really well done: clear, compelling, and responsive, even. The Spotify website was more artistic, less visually readable, and didn't have as punchy points or counte

Yeah, isn't VR perfect for space combat? - Your direction is controlled by the joystick and not the direction of your vision, so you can sit in one direction - You sit in a tight cockpit, so there's no need for fancier VR that tra

Thanks for bringing some of those non-existant thoughts to the surface! I used to imagine how to improve game play in the X-wing series, but not really outside the existing mechanics (just tweaking max speed, weapons load, or shielding). I
