I think people are just looking for a story. A botched Yahoo acquisition is more entertaining than one that maintains the status quo.

What Ubuntu got popular off of was it's ease of setup. They now seem to be using that validation to justify their decisions in UI and everything else, which has nothing to do with what people liked about Ubuntu in the first place. I fe

I have some data: http://w3techs.com/blog/entry/jquery_now_runs_on_every_secon... Of the top 10k sites 58.8% use jQuery. That's good! But only 26.6% use a cdn. Leaving only 15.6%. That's bad... But 94.2%

I'm not 100% clear on what that feature includes. If I'm on a roadtrip and I'm moving into an area with spotty coverage, do I lose the previously cached map? Were offline maps automatic before?

It seems like this might be the most important comment here. If so, then the law is being discarded just because the companies at hand are pushing their weight around.

Can you call transparent pricing a "revolution" when the status quo is purposefully obfuscated and archaic in order to nickle and dime you? It seems more like just doing the right thing.

One argument I hear a lot is that self taught programmers can teach themselves the theoretical stuff later on their own. As you mentioned, one problem is that you wont have the direction. I think some other problems that are often overlooke

My impression was that people responded favorably to flat design. Look at the web as a whole and you can see that much if not most of it is embracing flat design. Sure there was backlash for it, but skeumorphism also had tons of backlash as
