Maybe I'm old.. but everytime I read Alloy I think of the old modeling language out of MIT to prove a program's correctness. Gives me PTSD thinking of grad school. https://alloytools.org/

Or areas with weaker employees. I doubt they axed an entire team for monetary reasons alone. They could have axed 1/10th the employees in the bay area and probably covered the entire India roster (financial cost wise).

First and foremost, realize it has nothing to do with _you_. It's a job and nothing more. Focus on what you _can_ control. Mainly, your skill set, interview preparation and networking. Take a couple days off and get in a good mindset.

I really enjoy low level development... things like OS and compiler design. Emulation, simulation, etc. It's sad there's very little place for these "hobbies" anymore, other than that, a hobby.

Most never "earn their chops" in a traditional sense. These days, it would seem earning your chops is done by running create react app, cobbling together several dozen random javascript libraries and putting out a laughably design

Ah yes, the CEO is slumming it. I would be more impressed if he accepted cafe pay for one month instead.

If only Ruby had real concurrency and the memory didn't bloat like crazy.... you wouldn't need 90% of the hardware.

Not happy with it-- more so the hype around it. I am sure there are really tangible gains in what we can now do and a lot of avenues opening up, but I can't help but feel like the hype train is making it out to be the end-all for every

It's not always a static binary, if you use any os/config stdlib function calls or DNS look ups. In that case you need to specify CGO_ENABLED=0 to force static builds. I have been doing single binary full website deploys for about

I appreciate sticking to your guns, but I would be terrified writing anything web facing in C or C++. Furthermore, after looking at the WT documentation it seems horrific to construct frontends in... maybe not so bad for APIs though.

Not failed card attempts, but I noticed a big spike in failed reoccurring charges due to "bad card number" which is funny because these people have been using the same card for over a year.

This happened to me, almost identical. I was the first hire and an engineer. I worked for three years and some change before I was no longer a culture fit. Never assume you are on the same level as the founders. There is no “family” and the

Alternatively, create a business that wraps Twitter's public data/API and sell access to your API starting at $99/month. A sort of.... API arbitrage?

That's correct-- secure password encrypts the ssh keys. Those keys then access the server, which has my pass vault, gpg keys, two factor recovery codes, etc.
