First, NO. Amazon is arguably the MOST innovative company of our time. Second, Kindle is a product, and RIM is a company. You're comparing two different things not comparable. Third, I think Amazon's rationale in not innovating the hardware

If you read the post, he mentions examples where people buy someone else who can't afford coffee. That was what he encouraged from the initial post as well. Also I've seen many of my friends actually do something like that.

High concept pitch and tagline are meant to serve different audiences. You could say "we're building airbnb of food" to investors, but that doesn't mean your main page should say "We're building airbnb of food". First of all I have no idea

SOMA is either very expensive or very sketchy. Mission is a better place to live IMO. Look up Craigslist and get a sublet. Get a friend who's pretty active in the startup scene and friend that person. You will discover all kinds of interest
