The real issue is finding the right 100+ engineers and then managing them. That takes calendar time. There's a multiple to what people are willing to pay for SaaS solutions precisely because HR for knowledge work is such a pain.

Parent is taking issue with SVB's long date preference for the yield bump, which from a risk standpoint wasn't appropriate for their depositor base, in an inflationary environment.

I don't think parent was suggesting to expand it to other industries -- they specifically meant banking CEOs. Which mirrors what Buffett was suggesting.

The differences I've observed between successful-and-unsuccessful, Scrum-and-Kanban have been dominated by people over process (yes, I know). 1. Does the team have the right people, with the right skill sets, wearing the right hats? (e

That's showing multiplied Celsius in terms of Kelvin , no? 1 Celsius = 274.15 Kelvin 10 Celsius = 283.15 Kelvin Obviously 283.15 K != 10 * 274.15 K. But that's not what's being said, per my lower comment -- it'

Yes. Parent's spaghetti examples weren't the most illustrative. What I believe they're griping about is that "10°C does not have 10x as much heat as 1°C." In actuality, "10°C has 10x the difference in heat

Howso? If the conversion to Kelvin is additive (as opposed to something more complicated), and multiplying in Kelvin is fine, then how is multiplying effectively-unsigned in Celsius not fine?

Specifying "times" in Celsius is fine... as long as you stay either positive or negative. Implying that you can only specify multiples in Kelvin is being pedantic.

As someone who literally would have never existed albeit for human experimentation, I have something of an opinion that sometimes pushing the boundaries of science is worth ethical sausage making.

I clarify because, at least in the US (Canadian laws may differ), afaik building inspection is buyer beware. If an inspector checked something and if they noted the flaw then it would have been addressed. Or they could have just not checked

It's important to note that NSLs are an exception rather than a rule, and one over which a freely elected body (Congress) has oversight. I'm not sure the same claim can be made about China.
