FYI, "Thousands" of lines isn't particularly, a large code-base, I'm a developer who tends to specialize in legacy code bases and I've seen aspx (asp webforms) pages with 5k+ LOC in a single file. Also, you haven&#

My pet peeve is people thinking that D-K is a negative correlation of ability and perceived ability, when it's actually a weaker correlation than it 'should' be.

I think this a fair criticism which you haven't well explained, that a minority expert might be minority misled .

No, the law is to blame. Digital surveilance should be considered separate to advertising and should be regulated or made illegal.

It doesn't make sense to compare US wages with UK wages without considering all other factors. It's more meaningful to compare UK nurse wages to other UK wages. That still shows that nurses are under paid but in a more meaningful

It's too crude to compare salaries like that. That said, it's true that nursing is relatively under-paid in the UK. Part of that however is because the state is the largest employer of nurses which keeps wages down but that in tur

This is something my main music player had circa 2003 when I used a linux desktop player. Since then I've not had it any service or software I use, it's the missing killer feature for me. I want "random"/recommended

Python 3 won't compile with mixed indentation so by recommending a mixture you're picking a fight you cannot win and still have python programmers along with you.

I'm not "whitewashing history" that's a bizarre accusation because I'm not talking about history, I'm talking about what you should use today. Just because tabs would have been the right choice in the past does

What proponents of tabs over spaces miss is the fact that consistency is the most important thing. Editors ship with spaces over tabs as default, so you should use spaces over tabs. You will be more consistent with others and reduce errors

Temporal context. If I google "waitrose closing time" I want the closing time of my local supermarket today . When I googled that yesterday, I got a different result, and that's what I want.

This isn't HTML & CSS vs squarespace, and to butcher the analogy this is more like CSS vs Sass/SCSS. CSS is the internal API which does everything but Sass is an API which exposes that in a much more beautiful way. I don'

As an approximation, we can estimate each face with an approximation to the binomial at looking at where the cut off is for rejections at p=0.05. If you're looking at a single face, With 2000 rolls, you would expect a range of 81-120.

You can't assign significance to a sample size alone. A sample size of 10 can be significant (if it were 10 1's for example), and a sample size of 100,000 can be not significant, for example if you were to roll 4,953 1's.
