You mean a feature which records all user activity into a global, well-structured, explicitly searchable structure might be a ripe target? Obviously unforeseeable and not at all a feature implemented rashly in a clever but fragile manner.

HTML/CSS/JS is less capable than native development. It limits, not expands, what desktop application designs can do.

The damning thing isn't the loss, it's the revenue. $770,500 in revenue. $300M in losses. And there are people buying this stock.

If I reviewed this decision, based on everything presented, I'd probably deny the appeal too.

My wife uses hers (a Pro hand-me-down from me) for basically everything except her job, where she's forced to use a PC. Meanwhile, mine is basically a Plex machine.

National City Lines (famously the operators of the bus Rosa Parks protested on) was a private company.

You're essentially discounting all major civil right movements as selfish, since all included an attempt to change the behavior of large institutions and companies to accommodate what began as a minority opinion.

NPR programming has been non-partisan left-of-center with a bias towards humanity over raw factual presentation for as long as I can remember. It's essentially the NPR "house-style".

You find it amusing that Apple vets their developers by … vetting their developers?

Hard disagree on basically everyone you said beyond this move not being too surprising. Apple holds grudges. Always has. But this is just asking for trouble without any real benefit. Maybe they want the fight, I guess. But it's a dumb

I believe the reason iMessages aren't protected with iCloud Backup is because they're stored decrypted in the SQLite database iMessage uses, chat.db.

As far as I know, iMessage keys are not escrowed to any middle service. What are you basing that belief on?

This I generally agree with. Native apps will always gain capabilities before PWAs, and some capabilities will never be granted to PWAs for incredibly sane reasons. However, for many apps, Push Notifications was the only real reason they co
