It would be interesting to add a decoder for image outputs, similar to GPT-4o (that feature hasn't been talked about much, or released...).

In my experience, having done it both ways, first on VM's, then on lots of fully or mostly managed services, I generally prefer the latter because systems tend to be a lot more "self-healing" - because they're someone el

This is a great question IMO. For those saying "just don't share passwords", consider that many of the vendor accounts you might need to use in business don't have team accounts, and there is no option but to share accou

I would use Hetzner more but most of my user base is in the USA, and there is a lot of added latency to having your servers in Europe. I sort of think of Hetzner like a Costco for servers - does anyone know the closest equivalent in the USA

Although tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and other stochastic parrots are useful in specific contexts, AI still has nothing of "I"; on the contrary, what they really do is generate text that makes sense (grammatical tex

Maybe the entire page could be a self-updating data-url? edit: I tried this and common browser security no longer allows this type of thing. 10 years ago it may have worked.

One part really jumped out at me: Thus only a very small number of companies (currently TSMC, Samsung, and Intel) attempt to operate leading-edge nodes, and the industry has shifted to a “fabless” model where companies like Apple and

Can someone link to the text to the bill? I don't care about TikTok - but this bill is likely to have such wider effects than just TikTok. It may affect the ability of Americans to access many foreign services.

I'm not convinced the TSA is needed to stop terrorism, but it probably helps a good deal with protecting passengers from ordinary psychotic Americans, of which there seem to be a significant increase over the last 20 or so years.

Companies do marketing because these techniques work, not because they enjoy being evil. If you work in tech, part of your income is likely dependent on marketing, whether you think about it or not.

Apple is a consumer product business. They have no reason to care about being a good Unix - that's misunderstanding. And iOS has covered up, and made inaccessible, literally every feature of Unix.
