In Q3 2021 they had profits of about 8 billion... This is not a big deal and it's unlikely they'd lose everything. Certainly poses little to no systemic risk.

You could actually offer discounts and still come out ahead, likely far ahead as you’d be both guaranteeing a car and offering a cheaper car. Win-win, you just lose the terrible customers acting unethically.

They actually are going the other way and offering discounts for prepayment since it ensures they will have a customer. The math it pretty easy: if the discount % is < than the no show percentage on regular reservations they’re making mo

Could you post your study proposal and the IRB response? This does not seem realistic.

You are the first person in this thread to concisely state the major ethical failings. These 4 things are universally required in human subjects research (or IRB-exempt HSR) and it's black-and-white unethical to omit them.

You’ve replaced your trackpad cable 6-12 times? That’s is incredibly uncommon. I never had any problem with mine.

At some ports already after they are offloaded they are transported around the yard on programmed platforms. The platforms deliver them to waiting trucks. It’s not “autonomous” but I think it’s functionally close. And probably better to hav

Seems like Apple should be easily able to identify the original owner of the AirTag. Do they do this if the police request this [or substitute whatever lawful mechanism]? I assume this kind of tracking activity is criminal but am not sure.

Thank you for this link! It's worth noting that an $85,000 house back then would be much more extravagent than an $85,000 house today as housing inflation has exceeded official inflation rates. Probably more like a 3-400,000 house if I

Methylene blue has a fascinating history in medicine. It was already well known as a treatment for methemoglobinemia however. It's a ready electron acceptor. It's used for a few other conditions today, without a lot of evidence.

It seems obvious now but even 2-3 years ago I don’t think it was so obvious. Aside from Tesla, other auto manufacturers have just been dithering around.
