GraphQL was designed for mobile apps and UIs, and I think it’s perfectly suited. We started to build our front end using our public REST API and the experience was so harrowing that we started looking for something else. The big win with Gr

I met the developer of Artemis at an Ohio game developer meetup. Nice guy. The Ohio game dev scene is pretty cool.

Tiller user here. It’s a brilliant product. They have many different templates that allow you to manage money at the level of detail you want. I tried a ton of different apps and none of them were flexible enough. My only complaint is that

Tolkien and CS Lewis would like a word with you… Edit: Tolkien was Catholic and CS Lewis was Anglican, but their works seem popular enough with Protestants.

Wow. In that article he wrote his own operating system and sold 600 copies, but had too many compatibility issues with Windows and so had to abandon it. Huh.

Is this really all about masks? Or is it pandemic-related cabin fever? Is it at all similar to the increase in traffic fatalities in the US?

Try working somewhere that does pair programming. I work at a full-remote company that does pretty much 100% pair programming. We're constantly talking all day.

LINQ from .NET was pretty close to this. You could write a variant of SQL directly inline with your C#. I think technically there was also an ORM layer (Entity Framework) but for the most part it was just a query builder.

This looks like overfitting to me. Some of the GPT samples were definitely real code, or largely real code. One looked like something from Xorg, another like it was straight from the COLLADA SDK. It’s really hard to define what “truly new c

Another reason to use cursors is to avoid the problem of repeated or skipped elements caused by concurrent edits. If you use offsets and you’re on page 10, and someone deletes an item on page 1, the whole list shifts and you can accidentall

Shell is simultaneously wonderful and horrendous. Did you know that the left bracket ([) is actually not a part of bash syntax, but instead a binary that lives in /bin? Run “which [“ if you don’t believe me!

Not sure about ads, but I do know with Facebook likes, people who sell likes have to like a lot of organic-looking random pages to avoid being banned. Something similar could be happening here. Either that, or it’s Ad Nauseam. Edit: someone

Hardly anything could pull my team and I from VS Code's performant UI, great Git integration, astoundingly fast project-wide file search, etc. At the same time, the Go language server is the bane of our existence. It's so bad that

Even if you did swap a symlink to upgrade to GLES3, all the apps will still call the GLES2 functions. No matter what, the devs would have to go back and rewrite their app to actually use the new features.

Go can't really express the Result<T> approach. In Go, it's up to you to remember to check result.HasError(), just like it's up to you to check if err != nil. If you forget that check, you'll try to access the Data
