Those maps are usually orientated so that the direction you're looking at them is how things are laid out. From traveling in different countries, I've learned to first look for the compass rose before assuming north is up.

Has this talk with a friend, but it was actually centered around accessibility of technology for older people (or less technologically-inclined people, if you must). If Jobs had aged, needed reading glasses, and maybe had Parkinson's,

That's a good point. We can probably account for the increase by seeing when Instagram started having an uptick in #outsideisfree photos.

The jump from 32GB and 64GB is definitely price differentiation. But $50 for more memory on an expensive toy isn't that bad either (or maybe Apple has conditioned me to think this way).

Hey Ted, since you're here, may I please suggest that the future implementation of 2FA not require a separate app? Even though Namecheap is using Authy OneTouch, it still requires a dedicate app, which is unnecessary. Thanks.

Yeah the "public roads for everyone" point is always the immediate response to the Waze debate, and it's accurate. But really the opposing viewpoints are: - my "right" to drive to somewhere as quickly as possible -

Anyone know if FB is selling these at a loss to gain marketshare? $199 USD for the 32GB version is a welcoming price for mainstream acceptance.

Ubiquiti has a home-focused product out called AmpliFi and the base router has four ports. I haven't seen one in person, so I don't know how bright the display is at night.

Sure, but the risk of getting injured is higher on a construction site. The majority of OSHA regulations out there are meant to protect people in the trades. Let's not romanticise things: white collar workers have it easy when it comes

Not to mention white collar workers have to the luxury of being able to request standing desks, mats, anything for ergonomics. Ask for something like that at a job site and you'd probably get laughed off.

That's probably self-selecting, but ask any guy in the trades how their bodies are when they're 40 and they'll tell you about their aches. Computer jockeys, meanwhile, may suffer from some RSI from typing, or injuries from fa

Pale Fire and Lolita only have a handful of characters. If you have time this summer, I recommend reading Lolita . It's more than just a novel about a perverted obsession.

May we please rename this to "Slides of Facebook Q1 2018 Earnings [pdf]"? There's ambiguity in the current title with the idea of the earnings sliding (which they didn't).

The concern is that real estate fluctuates more than automobile prices. If the market tanks and rents go down, then WeWork is locked into overpriced rates. They have contracts until 2022. Yesterday's discussion [0] did point out that W
