I'm pretty sure apple is an outlier, and their margins are hardly razor thin. The iphone's margin has been estimated anywhere at about 60-75%. This argument might apply to commodity grade electronics, but not to apple.

Sounds like the eternal issue of open world games though. Olympic size wading pools is how I like to describe them. Many things to do, but with minimal depth and little, if any, impact on the game world. None other than skyrim is one of the

I'll say that this is less an issue with amazon and more an issue with the overall culture. Anecdotally, I've noticed a move from score based metrics to binary like/dislike based metrics. Thus, reviews also take a binary 5 st

Sure, but the lower income strata are also the ones who are more disproportionally fat as well, so they benefit. Something I've always found amazingly annoying is the tendency to throw pragmaticism out the window for "virtue poin

So, I don't think there is one. At least not one compatible with democratic-like systems. The fundamental issue here, at least to me, is that the upvote is an "I like this" signal. The instinctive use of an upvote is to see m

That sounds like the Witcher 3 to me. Great art, great story, great character/music. I hated the gameplay. I don't know why, but it felt horrendously clunky, even after the rework.

Well, we're dev-enriched here. I think the mainstream gamer population would not be nearly as pleased. After all, Factorio and it's ilk eats people like us.

I'd say that it feels like someone in the media has an axe to grind here. CDPR's policies seem like above average for the admittedly dismal field of game development, but they're drawing particular flack, especially when othe

I dunno, my impression is that for a game company, CDPR is fairly employee friendly. Of course that's relative to the rest of the gaming industry, which is a well-known employee welfare shithole.
