$70k is revenue, not profit.

Honestly, I'd be somewhat skeptical of the value of a report produced for $40. That price implies that these are at least mostly automated checks.

For what it's worth, I'd be interested in revenue (next 30 days), current number of subscribers, new subscribers (last 30 days) and cancellations (last 30 days).

Neat idea. Can you elaborate on what data is provided from Braintree?

We've done a lot of work on our house over the last few years, and I've observed how different contractors deal with scheduling issues: 1. Some won't return a call at all. 2. Some will call you back to say that they're i

My experience with the Google ad reps has generally been pretty positive. The only complaint I have is that it seems like they want to spend 30 minutes on the phone with me every other month.

Have you posted about this before? This seems really familiar. Either way, I don't really understand your dilemma - you've clearly got enough cash to start a business. If you don't have any ideas of your own, fund someone e

I'm not excited about the prospects of Elop as CEO either, but Nokia was already in trouble when he took the helm.

To me, that seems like the easiest possible thing to do. If they have the original site code, then it's just a matter of making some superficial changes and re-launching as "Silk Road 2.0".

Our insurance company sent us a letter explaining that the anesthesiologist was out of network, and sent us a check for $9,500. A month later we received a bill directly from the anesthesiologist for the same amount, and we paid him oursel

That's great. I should also clarify that because we have health insurance, our out-of-pocket expense was less than $200.

We actually shopped around until we found a hospital in our area with low c-section rates. On a related note, the anesthesiologist was paid close to $10k for administering the epidural.

This has been true of several places I've worked in the states, too - you're technically a contractor (e.g. no benefits) until the trial period is complete.

You're right - 'perceived' is the operative word here. People are imagining Star Trek replicators, and that's not even close to where we're at. The whole conversation around 3D printing reminds me a lot of personal

It's not just torrent applications - this is the lifecycle for a lot of free apps. Eventually you've got to pay the bills, and if no one is willing to pay for your app then it's either time to insert ads or crapware or both.

If you're a remote worker and most of the employees are working out of an office (or offices), then this is definitely true. It's a different story if the company culture is built around remote working.

What's stunning to me is the $110 million dollar judgment. Did the site really make that much money, or is this a decision designed to condemn the founder to a lifetime of poverty?
