You can also jailbreak most kindles. I picked up my first one a couple of weeks ago here in the UK and intentionally bought it from Argos (high street shop) rather than Amazon so that I'd stand more of a chance of the installed firmwar

Yeah sorry but thats the most insane take anyone could have. You're again quite litterally saying upping sticks and moving across country, so new job, losing friends and family, etc is the best option, vs losing a big of garage space..

by esskay 1y ago
Ah yes...because the simple solution is always "just pack up your life, leave behind your family and friends, and relocate half way across the country".

I long for the days of a note taking / personal "data store" system that isnt a pain in the arse to use. I really couldn't give a damn about apps i need to tweak like craxy or constantly maintain to work how I want. Obsi

For me its the UX. It just feels off, amaturish, messy. I can't really put my finger on it. I think the frankly crap fonts a lot of distro's choose to have as default dont help. And then the very "designed by a developer&quot

For the same reason the US considers its self the "leader" of the world. You can't have it both ways, if you want to "lead", you've gotta pay for it.

It's backed by SensioLabs (same creators as Symfony), plus theres a ton of sponsorship across the whole Symfony ecosystem. Every release is sponsored by multiple companies for example: https://symfony.com/backers Symfo

It feels pretty off that Laravel and Symfony, arguably the two largest benefactories to PHP being in such a good position have donated so little. Those contribution values are lifetime, Laravel hasn't funded it for over 3 years now, me

Shame his financial contribution doesn't really match up. $34k is pretty darn low considering how much money Laravel makes. Even worse when you see much smaller operatons like Private Packagist have donated more than Laravel and Symfon

It is a bit baffling how the US is so far behind on basically everything when it comes to money, banking and payments. I'm not sure many American's even realise how god awful their setup is.

For anyone confused, this isn't a EU based archiving service like the main Internet Archive. It's a vaguely worded plan of "tools" and "collections", whatever that means. Their BlueSky profile pretty much sums
