How long the application is supposed to live, should be relevant here. Some stuff can be a piece of crap, even if it goes against some sensibility of a developer, if it isn't suppose to live long and can give you something back. Some times

Check out www.playframework.org they have a successstories site that shows successful startups for their bundle. I'm working on a site right now using it, it's really neat. Scales really good, and is totally lightweight.

Actually found this one helpful. Thx. There are a lot of these out there, but you can see the value of the explenations. The only thing is, if you can't print it(something you'd have by your desk), it ain't no cheat sheet.

Is this the way the big companies talk to each other? By getting some random email published? I don't think apple and oracle had a dialog going here, because why would apple want to look like the bad guy? So if Oracle says "we'll do this",

So sorry to hear this. I don't know how the work situation is in the US, but here in Norway it's quite common to get positions, even the really good ones, thrown after you if you have the right resume. Sit down and think what you want to do

Are they just pulling these numbers out of the air? Let me rephrase, what goes into the calculation when they estimate the value of a company like LinkedIn? Sure in the article they say 70 million users + a healthy economy. But $2 billion ?

In norway everyone can call themselves "engineer", but the specific titles are protected (for instance "civil engineer").

I think the titles represents jobs that are that similiar that it's hard to say why we are trying to differantiate them. I guess it would've been a boring and uniform industry if everyone had the same title.

I bought the sx-1 extension to the amiga cd32, to make it into a beast of an amiga. I really loved every bit of it, and it's sad that this is what brought it down. Someone should really pay. Since Hyperion and Amiga Inc finally have agreed
