I disagree that the fix is to catch and ignore the error. The fetch handling logic should be catching the errors and reporting them somewhere (ex. Sentry or the UI). In a production app where you report and log errors this "issue"

Right, if you want `value` to be part of the public interface of your component you need to add a value property to expose it.

That's handled by shadow dom event retargeting. When the events pass over the boundary of the component the target becomes the component itself instead of the input.

Modern v8 does on disk byte code caching, things have come a long way since Palm. In many cases PWAs have faster startup than native apps (also the on disk size of a PWA is usually an order of magnitude smaller than a similar native app.)

There's a bunch that run very well on Android: Twitter, Instagram, Uber, Lyft, even TikTok all have very good PWAs. TikTok aggressively funnels you into the native app for various business reasons, but the experience is well polished i

As someone close to that situation, Firefox OS's failure had nothing to do with being web based beyond the fact that it was incompatible with the two dominant mobile platforms. Ex. If you can't run the Android or iOS YouTube app,

For reference the computer interface is called LCARS: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LCARS LCARS has always seemed so beautiful and simple, but in practice you can't get real UI complexity into a button layout li

The system level fix is to create a structured record format. That could mean quoting all the records or maybe Linux should finally adopt a standardized format like JSON.

Atom predated the LSP and leaned heavily into customizations with all the plugins running inside the UI thread (more like a traditional web page and 3p scripts). At the time they viewed the extreme customization support as a feature, and th

To be fair in the case of airplane wifi this is compounded by the exorbitant pricing. If you pay a premium price you expect premium service. There's no competition for airplane wifi though, you either use it or you don't. It'

The background process is just threads in the monolith, that's not a microservice. That a different pod running the same code might pick up the async task doesn't make it less of a monolith either.

This is why everyone switched to overlay scroll bars. It's also better for performance because you don't need to do layout on a screen worth of content only to realize you need to reserve 16px and do layout again.

The answer is lack of generics in all previous versions of Go. There's no way to express a generic interface to have methods for map or slice (which are not interfaces, but compiler magic instead). All the operations on builtin types m
