In the context of this article, I think you can safely exchange those two words. I'd even say you can exchange company by side-project and the advice is still solid.

Carreon has certainly been owned by The Oatmeal's lawyer. For those that didn't read it, I believe the answer from The Oatmeal in his blog is absolutely hilarious: http://theoatmeal.com/blog/funnyjunk_letter

About the tip #6, 6. If you are not educated, find someone who is : I would rather find a partner that has experience in the field, that is, someone that has tried (successfully or not) to set a startup going off the ground. That type of e

Simple but pretty powerful, thanks! Definitely not that easy for people with full-time jobs, when you factor in the commute, the lunch break, etc, plus a bit of time for socializing and such. For those working for themselves, this is a grea

I'm glad this works for this product. However, I'd argue it is generally not applicable. Say you launch a free application (perhaps monetized by a supporting PRO version, in-app purchases, or ads) that gets a few thousand downloads per day.

To me, the opposite question is the hard one. Since I've started using a tool to plan my activities in a weekly, and also in a daily, basis, I've seen my productivity boost. I have separate task lists for my day job, my side projects, and a

I find it courageous to write a web app that competes in such a crowded market such as task management. I'm not saying it's impossible to find a spot there, but it's certainly difficult. In order for hesitant users to start using it, perhap

A piece of (semi off-topic) advice for those indie developers that want to publish their apps in alternative Android markets: get a VA to do it for you. It's a great way to get started into outsourcing, given that the task is so straightfor

Very helpful advice there. Here's the GTD approach I've been following lately, which I'm very happy about. It's based in the tool Trello. I have several boards (for personal stuff, for my main side-project, for work, for another project, an

I don't think we'll get rid of this any time soon. This is rolled out only for a subset of the users [1], and I guess it provides Google with valuable analytics data. [1] As I can read in several articles in the internet, but can't find an
