There was a law just for cookies before. And no, companies don’t need to put up these prompts, IF they don’t do any UNNECESSARY tracking.

Ok, but your original criticism stated that solving this in cron is bad because the program may be run outside of cron: * It's not just cron that can cause concurrent execution, and if that matters you generally want to robustly preven

Isn’t that the same? Just because you check a file lock in your script doesn’t mean that other invocations of the program without the script will check the lock.

This looks more like a socket tutorial than rpc. It leaves out most aspects about implementing rpc that are actually interesting.

You automatically get signed up for it if your parents were in the church and paid tax. You have to pay a fee to get out of it and keep your paper document forever in case the government forgets you don’t owe that tax for 20 years past

It’s a heuristic. And it doesn’t catch when your move isn’t really a move. And writing move constructors is difficult busywork.

I think the point here is that users would like to use Vec, HashMap etc using that arena allocator and handle OOM manually instead of having to write their own collection types.

The compiler will outright remove bounds checks that are implied by previous bounds checks. It is a common low level optimization to add a wide boundary check in the beginning to avoid successive smaller bounds checks.

I agree with you. Algorithms don’t exist in a bubble, but are always accompanied with a data structure. A heap sorted array is different from a linearly sorted array. Binary search is only defined for the latter.

Strong disagree. I learned multiple languages this way. I think you’re better served by turning off the counter for cards remaining, and studying more often. Otherwise you’re not doing SRS at all. One can’t remember 2300 Kanji as an aha-mom

Well first of all if you’re not using any dependency tracking logic anyway it provides 0 advantages over some scripts like make.sh test.sh push.sh lint.sh (where test.sh can simply call make.sh if you want).

I don’t see the value in this niche. Either I want to model something more abstractly, or I want to be more concrete and model precise data flows (defining programming as input data + transformation -> output data). The article mentions
